One of my pet peeves is when things are not consistent. Between UTIL-002 and VCO-002 I've noticed the following inconsistencies:

  • Resistor footprints are different.
  • Capacitor footprints are different.
  • Resistor footprints on VCO-002 include the value, but have a really small font and are kinda hard to read.
  • Transistor footprints are different (especially VCO-002 Q1 and Q2 v.s. VCO-002 Q4 v.s. UTIL-002 Q1.
  • The mounting holes are different between boards and I don't especially like either. I'll bet their even inconsistent between PSU-001 as well.

These issues should be addressed and standardized on before the next batch of PCBs are made of either module, or of future module designs.

This issue is created so I can document my process of standardizing the design.
